The bathroom was a bit small, especially the shower area, and we noticed some mold on the tiles. The towels were a bit rough as well.

I recently stayed at a stunning 1-bed cottage close to the Lake District and it exceeded all my expectations. The former barn, which is likely the second oldest building in the village, has been beautifully and sensitively converted into a quirky and spacious house. The lovely garden and outdoor seating area were perfect for enjoying the picturesque village and the nearby wood for a walk with my dog. The owners, Sue and Ian, provided a warm welcome and were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The communication with them prior to our arrival was excellent. The location was also ideal for exploring Arnside and the surrounding areas, with a village pub just a short walk away and shops within a 10-20 minute drive. the cottage was well-presented, clean, and had fantastic facilities, including large TVs. It was warm and cozy, making it a perfect home away from home.
Nothing to complain about at all. 😊

We chose this hotel as a halfway point on our drive to Scotland and because it was dog-friendly. However, it turned out to be so much more than that. The house itself was beautiful and quirky, with plenty of space. The village was lovely, with a great pub and a picturesque atmosphere. The hotel had a good garden and even a wood to walk in, which was perfect for our furry friend. Sue and Ian, the hosts, gave us a warm welcome and were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. it exceeded our expectations and made for a wonderful stopover.
Would recommend this hotel.

The spotless cottage had a comfy bed, a fantastic mezzanine floor, and a charming lounge in what seemed like a converted garage. With its ideal location, great value for money, and all the amenities like Wi-Fi, off-site car park, electric kettle, cots. We will definitely return if we're in the area again!

The layout and quirkiness of the property, a former barn, was delightful. The inclusion of a lovely garden and outdoor seating area added to the charm. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, providing good communication throughout our stay. The location was ideal for exploring the surrounding area, with a village pub just a few minutes' walk away. The property also had the convenience of a washing machine and dishwasher for longer stays.
Although dogs were allowed, the accommodation was not particularly dog-friendly. There were restrictions on where we could have our dogs, and the lack of doors or gates to keep them out of certain areas was not ideal.
